Even though it’s extremely dreary outside, I’ve been very satisfied by exploring the deep depths and beauty that lies with The Selby. One of my favorites, as you might speculate if you’ve visited the site recently, is the series with Martin Greenfield (the factory owner who was featured in a recent GQ spread and who is producing garments for Band of Outsiders and Rag & Bone). Drinking a High Life and looking at great photography makes for a perfect Saturday.

Tonight K and I made peanut butter-chocolate chunk cookies for a small Lost gathering that we are hosting tomorrow night. I took some pictures of the final product and the dirty dishes.

Recipe (from Martha Stewart Everyday Food)

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
  • 4 tablespoons (½ stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ½ cup packed dark-brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, cut into chunks
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350˚. In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat peanut butter, butter, and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, and beat until smooth. With mixer on low, gradually add flour mixture, beating just until combined. Stir in chocolate chunks.
  2. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons, 1 inch apart, onto two large baking sheets. Bake until golden, 13 to 15 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool.
Makes 36 cookies

K also found these labels and so we’re planning to do this too, I think. I’ve packaged these Dharma food templates up and put them here.

I’m loving the photography and drooling over the dishes found on Minimally Invasive. Thanks for the blog recommendation Ali.

I’m going on a rebloging frenzy tonight. I had to, this guy was just too good to pass up. Notice the stained ‘stache and how it matches the hat—classic old man. I promise, original content is coming soon.
