Today I visited the fine home shop Manor on 23rd. I think the good smells led me in. Anyway, I picked up the book ABC of Men’s Fashion by Hardy Amies. I’ve only flipped through it a little bit, but it seems really detailed and informative. It simply goes from A to Z and describes different men’s clothing related items, right down to material types.
While I was out and about I also bought some new coffee that I plan to review next week. As I said last week, Extracto is my new fav. I hope this one doesn’t let me down. The other item is some fancy olive oil.

The new GQ just landed on my doorstep and so I thought I’d list my favorites from the article 25 Most Stylish Men in the World.
 Russell Brand
His style is relaxed and sometimes so relaxed he wears women’s clothing. Follow him on Twitter to hear about the latest developments in cat rapage.

 Spike Jonze
W has a good interview with him that goes into talking about his collaboration with Opening Ceremony.

 Lapo Elkann
He holds the nickname “Lapo of Luxury” and has made it into Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed Hall of Fame of 2009. via Wikipedia I like his style. He’s not afraid to use color and he likes to accent his outfits with interesting spectacles.

 Ed Westwick
I’m not a fan of the wide ties. They mostly consist of an assortment bright colors with paisley patterns; for the most part I dig his steeze.

 Brad Pitt
You should check out his black tie ensemble in the latest GQ, it’s nice.

 Jude Law
I like his laid back style.

 André Benjamin
I don’t subscribe to the pants tucked in to the boots, but I’m curious to see more from him.

If you’re wondering, I voted for Lapo Elkann but Robert Pattinson is currently in the lead.

It’s an honor to be a part of the fashion directory. I really enjoy reading comments and getting ideas from many of the blogs in this listing. And I love posting about fashion so I think I fit (way down there at the bottom). This blog is not exclusively a fashion blog although most of my posts deal with fashion in some way or form. I’d also like to say welcome to all of the new followers.
If you are new to my blog, here are a few posts that you might enjoy.
I went to Bamboo Sushi in Portland and talked about it
I illustrated a guide to making sausage curls
I make comments about people on television here and here
I also talk about websites from time to time

Ante Up - M.O.P.

Information Overload

I’ve collected a lot of information related to clothing over the years and I figured there’s no better time than now to share this data. I’m sure that I don’t have nearly everything collected so if you have a blog or know of a brand that’s not in the list, attach a comment and I’ll add it.

pierreponthicks:

product coming in early march

I enjoy seeing the material selection process. I also just really enjoy textiles; so much so, that last year I started a site (La La Llama: http://lalallama.com) that contains thousands of material swatch images. The goal of the site was to create an online system that held not only swatches but the materials that went into the textiles. I also wanted to bring attention to textile designers because I didn’t really see them focused on anywhere else. And I think that pattern design is interesting.
I haven’t done anything with the site lately because it’s slow and I can’t bring myself to code a better way to add textiles. Managing and setting up the site did teach me a thing or two about textiles though.

photo via What is James Wearing
This photo inspired me to create the following set. I really like the layering of the jacket and the patterned cardigan. I think you’ll notice that I toned down the look a bit. My style is slightly less flamboyant than James’.
