Brooklyn Industries Ellis Pea Coat

This weekend while walking around 23rd Ave., I stumbled upon a black watch pea coat that I think you might like. The mannequin wearing the pea coat was signaling me over through the windows of Brooklyn Industries, so I had to step in and try it on. I tried not to judge too hard, but as I got closer, I noticed that the mannequin was wearing white sneakers. Wuh? White sneakers and a black watch pea coat? Some mannequins just don’t get it. Don’t worry, I let him know what’s up. I walked over and politely said, “It’s not summer anymore—lose the white sneakers and get some boots.” He started giving me lip, so I snatched his(size small) coat, and he shut his fiberglass trap. To my surprise, it fit like a glove.  

For the small guys, Brooklyn Industries has you covered. This coat comes in XS and fits trim. Like I mentioned earlier, I tried on a small and it fit me (6”0 and 175lb) great. The coat has more wool (70%) than the poly (5%) and viscose (25%), too. It’s lined with cotton (100%) and currently selling for one-hundred and twenty eight dollars including the limited time only, fifty dollars off.

I found this vintage Ralph Lauren wool toggle duffle coat on eBay earlier and I think it’s mighty fine. If you get it you might be able to replace that broken wooden toggle with one of these bone toggles.

If you have a wool duffle with plastic closures and you’re really bored, well, Gloverall sells their superior buffalo horn toggles, with leather straps, for around twenty-four dollars (converted from pounds). This would be a good weekend project or something else that you can give to your tailor to keep him in business.

It’s on eBay and it’s a wool Pendleton shooting jacket. This casual jacket would compliment a pair of jeans, or khakis, and a pair of Red Wing boots. Nobody’ll know you don’t own a Smith & Wesson. If you do, then hell, wear this mighty fine jacket on the shootin’ range.

It’s on eBay and it’s Harris Tweed. Once you get it, remove the leather covered buttons on the body and add some big new dark gray buttons. And after you remove the buttons on the sleeves, you can get all playful and add on these buffalo nickel buttons. Now what you have is an AWESOME coat.
