Ever the fickle gent, I’m selling these gently used Harrys of London Bentley chukka boots on eBay. I’m saving up for a pair John Lobbs or Crockett & Jones loafers for the summer.

If you can’t find a boot that fits your lifestyle from this chart, well then, you’re a robot.

I noticed that this man’s laces are double wrapped around the boots and it’s interesting to me. I’ve recognized this lacing technique used in the past by skinheads, but I think things are changing and it seems to be popping up a bit more without any negative or gang-related connotations. I currently have a pair of leather laces and I too wrap them around the ankle of my Red Wings. The leather laces that K purchased for me came packaged in long lengths and being the lazy man that I am, I simply decided not to cut them to length. And I think it adds a bit more ruggedness and flair to my boots à la Sir Edmund Hillary.
BLACKBIRD x ALDEN at ACE HOTEL New York
Blackbird Seattle launched their new collaboration with Alden Shoes last week with 5 styles on view in room 408 at Ace Hotel New York. Here’s a shot of one of our favorites.
Wow, this is a stunning (like most of the posts at Luxirare) introduction to shoemaking. Luxirare has blown my mind again. I really enjoy the small details she attaches to her creations—in this segment it’s the custom Luxirare zipper pull.
Her adventures range from food to design. She’s a modern gastronome and her clothing is dark and experimental. Her stories are told with exquisite photography and her ability to construct custom packaging, like the custom crayon box for a recent edible crayon experiment.
They’re only sixty four dollars and ninety-five cents over at beacon’s closet. Not bad. Not bad at all.
I just recently discovered the brands Dubarry of Ireland and Lavenham. And they complement each other nicely.
I found these Alden cap toe beauties on eBay and I think they’re mahvelous.
What you’re looking at is a pair of Alden boots that have been produced for Winn Perry. The design was inspired by a pair of “Pershing” trench boots a.k.a “Little Tanks.” I really like the light color and height of these boots. And I think they’d look especially cool with a pair of cords. If you buy these—you better use ‘em. These ain’t no hiking boots.
