Yesterday, while browsing around on NYTimes, I ran across an article about Stumptown Stubbies and knew I had to try one. Today, I stopped by my local Stumptown inside of the Ace Hotel and picked up one.

I’d first like to say that the bottle design is cool. I really like the idea of trying different cold press coffees in this way. Coldness has a way of covering up bad flavors in some libations, but it really does enhance the flavor of coffee. And cold press is my preferred style for the summer, hands down. If you like strong coffee, you’re going to love this. The bottle packs a punch and I recommend splitting it with a partner over ice.

Purple scarves

When summer hits, I can’t help but think about the color purple. And it’s all because of that damn Sartorialist post containing the purple mocs. It sticks in my mind like an earworm. Don’t get me wrong, I love purple. I don’t consider it just a summer color. I like wearing it in all of the seasons. I’m really just tired of thinking about purple shoes and this post was written in an effort to remove my weird purple shoe fixation.

I know that I can’t be the only one with the aforementioned earworm, so I thought I’d throw another option at you. Purple scarves. They come in all kinds of textures and materials, so I’m sure you’ll find one that fits your personal style. You can wear it with most colors, too. I wouldn’t suggest putting purple on purple, but if that’s your thang, more power to yah. For reference, I’ve collected some photos that show how to, and not to, wear your purple scarf. You can find these below. Note: When people ask you where you got the idea to wear a purple scarf, tell ‘em Bieber taught you.

I’m a big fan of Monocle’s essentials guides and so I made my own for our recent excursion to Cabo. The guide contains places to stay, how to get around and the best places to grab a cocktail or bite to eat. Let me know what you think.

I was happy to find out (Thanks Jeremy.) that Lapo has finally dropped the doobies long enough to make over his brand’s site. I’ve been a fan since I-I’s inception and I admire Lapo’s taste in clothing and cars. Not everyone can pull off or afford the garb that’s currently available in the updated e-shop quite like Lapo, but I do appreciate the fun and excitement of it all. I wouldn’t expect anything less and I can’t wait to see what’s next from the brand. You can find some of my favorites below.

I would say that Blackbird has flown down to Portland, but that’s just way to cheesy. Oh, wait a minute, I typed that didn’t I? This place gained its popularity in Seattle and has been going strong since its inception 6 years ago.

The Portland shop will carry the usual Blackbird suspects. Some of my favorites include A.P.C and Yuketan. I recently purchased a pair of Blackbird’s house brand jeans and I haven’t been happier. They’re pretty pimp fit.

As you’ve probably realized, I haven’t been blogging a lot lately. Well, it’s because most of my day is spent answering and sorting emails. I’m not giving up on blogging yet, though. I’m trying to find the people who keep emailing me and to help me do so, I’ve created an application. It’s called the Email Analyzer for Outlook and it produces charts like emails by person for the month and total emails sent today. If you’re feeling my pain, maybe this app will help you figure out who to send a trojan horse. Or a worm maybe. Whatever gives you the fix.

Clothing Credits was born today, and although I’d like to take all of the credit, most goes to K on this one. She had the idea and I just made it happen using my righteous coding skills. The site likely has bugs, so if you see any, let me know.

The goal of the site is to collect as many clothing credits as possible. I figure these will come via submissions and everyday web browsing. You’ll likely see mostly celebs, because that’s K’s jam. If you have credits that you’d like to submit, you can do that here.

When it comes to vintage jackets, it’s hard to beat a good Banana Republic jacket. In its heyday, the brand was run by Mel and Patricia and I have to say, they knew their stuff. Community has been killin’ it lately. Do you agree? Don’t answer, I don’t really care. In last night’s episode, I couldn’t help but notice as Joel plopped his feet up that he had Uggs on. Yeah, I know. Uggs, the most comfortable shoe in the world! This isn’t the first time I’ve commented on Joel’s accessories. I’m always keepin’ tabs on what my celebrity bros are wearing. And btw Charlie’s grey McGregor hoodie (from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) is da shiz. Look how comfy Joel looks in those Uggs. I think he’s asleep in that first photo. You want some, don’t you? Well, I’m going to do you a solid and give you a link where you can win some. I’m not sure how much spam you’ll receive after throwing your email into the pot, but I know you’ll do anything for fashion.
