I’m starting to think that my taste buds are useless and that I’m not really a supertaster. Why? Because every bag of coffee I try in Portland, I absolutely enjoy.
I’d like to bring to your attention yet another delicious bag of coffee. This weeks bag comes from Coava (pronounced ko-vuh) Coffee Roasters and is named Chapadão de Ferro “Plateau of Iron.” The beans are grown near an extinct volcano and so they are rich with iron, magnesium and potassium.
If you’re not familiar with Coava, you might like to know that their name comes from the Turkish translation of green coffee and each bag is roasted and packaged in small batches right in Stumptown. If you’re a real coffee dork, you might also like to know that each bean is roasted in a Diedrich IR-3 roaster.
You can grab a bag and read more about this coffee here.
