I know you’re probably looking at this post blurry eyed and wishing the day was already over. Despite all of my hard drinking last night, I’m feeling pretty good. I woke up clear-eyed and made K and I a full breakfast. It consisted of an egg, a half bagel, and a veggie sausage and a pot of coffee brewed from Sterling roasted beans.
My St. Patrick’s Day celebration consisted of having a large meal at Jake’s Grill with friends. The scotch soaked salmon was delicious. The Guinness was good too. Jake’s had the entire block closed and among the kegs of Guinness, there were cover bands and Irish musicians. There were also crowds of older traditionally dressed gents wearing kilts and tartan ties, and older women expressing themselves with coochie drops.
After Jake’s, we brought the party back to our place where we drank Black Noddy lager and more Guinness. K also had a batch of macarons that were in the works, along with icebox cookies, yum! Our night ended with talks about oxygen bars and eBay (I was eBaying while not being sober again. Thank goodness I lost the bid last night.), eating cookies and drinking beer.
